Design Considerations
Surface Colour
Court surface colour has a significant effect on how the court sits within the landscape. Slate blue, deep green, terracotta, and charcoal are among the most popular choices for residential courts.
Fencing Style
Fencing frames the court and contributes significantly to its overall aesthetic. Powder-coated chain-link, architectural mesh, and timber privacy panels each suit different property styles.
Lighting Design
Court lighting extends usability into the evening. Architectural LED systems can be specified to minimise light spill and complement the property's existing outdoor lighting.
Landscape Integration
The best private courts feel like they belong to the property. Planting, retaining walls, pathways, and surrounding landscaping all contribute to how the court sits within the wider garden.
Orientation
Court orientation affects playability — particularly the angle of the sun during peak playing hours. We consider orientation carefully as part of the site review process.
Retaining & Earthworks
Sloped sites require earthworks and retaining to create a level court surface. The choice of retaining wall material — concrete, timber, or natural stone — can significantly affect the finished aesthetic.
