How We Work
A structured process, from first conversation to finished court.
Every private court project begins with a conversation. We work through a clear, structured process with every homeowner we engage — one that's honest about what's involved and realistic about what to expect.
Your first step
Initial Enquiry
You submit an enquiry through our website, sharing your property details, what you're considering, and your approximate budget range. We review every enquiry carefully before making contact.
There's no obligation at this stage. We simply want to understand your situation well enough to have a useful first conversation — and to confirm that a private court is a realistic option for your site and budget.
Typically a phone or video call
Initial Consultation
We make contact to discuss your property, your goals, and your initial budget thinking. This conversation helps both parties understand whether it makes sense to proceed to a site visit.
We'll ask about your site — its size, slope, access, and orientation. We'll also ask about how you intend to use the court, any aesthetic preferences, and your timeframe. This conversation is straightforward and without pressure.
Not every enquiry proceeds to a site visit. We're honest about what's realistic.
An on-site assessment
Site Review
For enquiries that progress, we visit the property to assess the site in person. This allows us to understand the topography, ground conditions, access, drainage, and any other factors that will influence the project scope.
The site review is the foundation of everything that follows. It's where we move from general conversation to specific understanding of what your project will involve.
Following the site review
Concept & Budget Guidance
Based on the site review, we develop an indicative concept and provide honest budget guidance. This gives you a clear picture of what your project is likely to involve and what it will cost.
Budget guidance at this stage is indicative — it reflects what we know about your site and scope, but it is not a fixed quote. Final pricing is developed once scope is fully defined.
We don't provide fixed pricing until scope is agreed. Budget guidance is always framed as a range, subject to site conditions and final specification.
Refining the detail
Planning & Scope Development
Once you're comfortable with the concept and indicative budget, we develop the full project scope — surface specification, fencing, lighting, drainage, access, and any earthworks or retaining required.
This stage may involve input from other consultants depending on the complexity of the site. We coordinate this process and keep you informed throughout.
From groundworks to finished court
Project Delivery
With scope agreed and contracts in place, we manage the project through to completion — coordinating earthworks, base preparation, surface installation, fencing, lighting, and final finishing.
Project timelines vary depending on site complexity, scope, and seasonal conditions. We provide a realistic programme at the outset and keep you updated throughout the build.
Timelines are indicative and subject to site conditions, weather, and consent requirements where applicable.
What to Expect
Honest guidance at every stage.
We don't oversell what a private court involves. Site conditions, budget, and scope all affect what's possible — and we're direct about that from the first conversation.
Our goal is for every homeowner who works with us to feel well-informed and well-served — whether their project proceeds immediately, is deferred, or takes a different shape than originally imagined.
Not every site is suitable
Some sites have constraints — access, slope, drainage, or consent requirements — that make a court impractical or uneconomical. We'll tell you honestly if that's the case.
Budget guidance is indicative
We provide budget ranges based on what we know about your site. Final pricing is only confirmed once scope is fully defined.
Timelines vary
Project timelines depend on site complexity, scope, consent requirements, and seasonal conditions. We provide realistic programmes, not optimistic ones.
